What does Retargeting mean?

Serving ads to users who have already interacted with your brand (site visit, add to cart) without converting.

Full definition

Using tracking pixels or cookies, retargeting allows 'following' a warm prospect across other websites or social networks and re-engaging them with an adapted message (e.g., offering a 10% discount to finalize the purchase).

Why is it important?

It is the channel that historically shows the best ROAS, as the audience is already qualified and shows intent. It is catching up on the 98% of visitors who leave the site without buying.

The Jour de Chance approach

"Retargeting is essential, but algorithms are lazy. If left unchecked, they will spend all your budget on the 2% of users who were going to buy anyway. We strictly segment our retargeting audiences to only retarget genuinely undecided cohorts."
