Glossary / Digital Performance

What does SEA (Search Engine Advertising) mean?

Buying sponsored links on search engines (Google Ads).

Full definition

You bid on specific keywords typed by users. When a user makes this search, your ad appears at the very top of the page ('Sponsored' results). You only pay when the user clicks (CPC).

Why is it important?

It is the ultimate demand capture tool. The user is actively searching (high purchase intent), which often makes it the channel with the best immediate conversion rate.

The Jour de Chance approach

"We strictly isolate 'Brand' (when people search your name, often a result of TV/Awareness campaigns) from 'Generic' (when they search for your product without knowing you). We structure generic campaigns surgically (SKAGs / STAGs) to maximize Quality Score and lower the cost per click."
