    How the calculator works

Each channel has a reference weekly media budget per area, based on our price guides and the campaigns we buy. The calculator multiplies it by the duration and the chosen pressure (×0.6 for a test, ×1.8 for a key moment), then raises it to the channel's entry ticket if needed: below it, a campaign doesn't break through.

On top come production (adapting existing creative or producing a new one) and technical fees and agency costs, 5 to 10% of media. Contacts are estimated with the CPMs of our media costs barometer. To turn contacts into reach and frequency, use the reach, frequency and GRP calculator.

From an indicative range to the real price

The ranges cover most cases, but the final price depends on three levers only a buyer sees: the season (January, February and summer are noticeably cheaper), how precise the targeting is, and the volume negotiated across the whole plan. That's also why financing matters: some startups pay part of their media in equity, with a real cost worth calculating before signing.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a TV advertising campaign cost in France?
With addressable TV, a campaign starts from €5,000 of media. A first national wave on DTT channels costs €20,000 to €80,000, and a campaign on the major channels €50,000 to €150,000, excluding production.
How much does a billboard campaign cost?
A bus shelter costs €120 to €280 a week outside city centres, up to €4,200 in Paris. A neighbourhood activation starts around €8,000 and a city-wide campaign costs €15,000 to €80,000.
Are the calculator's prices what advertisers actually pay?
They are net ranges, meaning after negotiation: media owners' rate cards are higher. They vary with season, targeting and volume; only a quote on your case gives the exact price.
Why does the calculator add production and fees?
Because a media budget isn't only airtime or space. Creating the spot or poster costs from a few hundred to tens of thousands of euros, and technical fees and agency costs (delivery files, adaptations, monitoring) usually represent 5 to 10% of media.
How is the number of contacts estimated?
By dividing the media budget by the channel's CPM (cost per thousand contacts) from our media costs barometer. It's an order of magnitude: real reach depends on targeting and frequency.
